Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is often the treatment of choice in situations where pain impairs function, in recovering from an injury or surgery, and in recovering from a disease process or illness. Physical therapists also teach adaptive and physical coping skills in dealing with impaired function from a disease, injury or illness. Physical therapists are experts trained in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction. They are trained specifically to improve movement and function, relieve pain, and expand movement potential. Physical therapy can help anyone who is suffering from musculoskeletal injuries, recovering from surgeries or other difficulties such as balance/walking problems, or neurological problems such as stroke and acquired brain injuries. Even people recovering from non-orthopedic surgeries (internal problems, cancer) can benefit from PT by regaining strength and endurance. The realm of physical therapy is huge and encompasses the whole body and its functioning.

Medical Nutritional Counseling

What does Medical Nutritional Counseling do? It solves problems. The advice and knowledge you find on the internet is only as effective as the ability to follow through and find access to support and resources. This creates a problem for you: without any help the likelihood of success when changing unhealthy behaviors or diet habits is low. Let our Licensed Dietitian be your support and your primary resource! Kari Halloran, MEd, RD, LDN holds a Master's Degree in Adult Education and is an expert in the area of nutrition and diet - specifically on how foods affect medical conditions and how to best establish healthy and sustainable weight loss strategies. She knows what makes people tick and can reinforce the recommendations by your MD and assist in helping you deal and thrive with a chronic disease or weight loss goal. Give Kari a chance to assist you. In most cases her services are covered by the patient's health insurance, similar to physical or occupational therapy.
